Sometimes I think that big tourist attractions won't be worth the time or money. That battling crowds to see something I've seen a million times on social media will not only be frustrating but a let down as well.
In the case of Singapore's Gardens By the Bay, I was wrong. They are as pretty as you've heard.
To avoid the crowds, go on a weekday—preferably in the evening as the sun is setting. The two domes (Cloud Forest and Flower Dome) are open until 9pm daily, and by 6 or 7, the sun is setting, the weather is cooling down, and the day's crowds are going home. The domes cost SGD $28 (about US $21) for non-residents and the rest of the park's sprawling gardens are free…and open until 2am. And since this is Singapore, you are absolutely safe staying out that late.
